SCPL-obituary

SCPL Digital Collection

This digital collection initially consists of two parts: Compiled obituaries from local sources (1891-2002) arranged in alphabetical order; Obituaries from the Eastern Association of Primitive Baptist, EAPB, in three sections 1-(1891-1945), 2-(1948-1998) and 3-(1996-2000). Clicking on one of the links above will open an index for your selection. Scroll down to find the person of interest. There you will find a page number, that when you continue scrolling to locate, will provide the obituary for the person you are searching.

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying or imaging order if in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

While the Library & Archives houses an item, it does not necessarily hold the copyright on the item, nor may it be able to determine if the time is still protected under current copyright law. Users are solely responsible for determining the existence of such instances and for obtaining any other permissions and paying associated fees, that may be necessary for the intended use.
