Therapy Dog, JB, will be in the library by appointment between 3:00pm and 4:00pm to listen to young readers as they practice their new skills every other Tuesday in September. Reading to a canine has been proven to reduce stress and build confidence in new readers. To schedule your child’s 15-minute appointment to read to JB please call the library at 423-239-1100.
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program aims to get children and families reading together! For every 100 books read, participants will receive a book to keep from SCPL. To redeem your prize, turn in a completed 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten sticker sheet at any branch library.
Participants may sign up online or in the library.
